Dempsey Cadd

Dempsey Lee Cadd, 78, a longtime Martinsville resident, entered eternal rest in the comfort of his home with loved ones by his side on Wednesday, July 22, 2026.Dempsey was born on Saturday, February 28, 1948, to the late Phyllis (Payton) Baker. He owned and operated his own construction company, contracting with Ethan Fernhaber of Helix Development for many years before retiring.Dempsey was a faithful member of Gateway Tabernacle Church in Martinsville, where he was baptized and dedicated his life to the Lord. He was also a member of the former Martinsville Moose Lodge. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, and spending weekends shopping alongside his wife at flea markets. Above all else, Dempsey treasured the time he spent at home surrounded by his beloved grandchildren.Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Linda J. (Polson) Cadd of Martinsville, whom he married on September 12, 1991; his sons, David Cadd, John Suter, and Scott Suter, all of Martinsville; his daughters, Angela Dunn (Jim) of Martinsville, Alison Cadd (Brad Crone) of Paragon, Indiana, Amy Suter of Martinsville, and Niki Cadd of Paragon, Indiana; his grandchildren, Steven Macy, James Dunn(Megan Santin), Jessie Dunn (Colt Turner), Zackary Garrett, Kaden Suter (Emma), Trey Suter (Emily), and Hadlee, Maycee, and Sadie Suter; and one great-grandson, Kolter Dempsey Suter.He was preceded in death by his mother; one brother, Kevin Cadd and one sister, Stephanie Hamilton.Dempsey's family has chosen cremation and will honor and celebrate his life with a memorial on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at 2:00 pm at New Life Christian Church, 2450 S. Guy Rd., Paragon, Indiana.  Neal & Summers Funeral & Cremation Center has been entrusted with the arrangements.Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Memorial Giving, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.Online condolences may be shared with his family at www.nealandsummers.com.
